Getting The Best Fish Oil Is Important – Want To Know Why?

I sat down to watch television the other day and saw an infomercial on fish oil supplements on late night TV.  I was surprised at some of the claims they made and of course they were selling the best fish oil around.

The fact is it’s hard to distinguish the difference between all the health claims made by different people,  I think most of the stuff I see on infomercials is BS any how.

But there was something about this program that caught my attention,  so I decided to do a little research on omega 3 fatty acids, and wondered if there was a safe fish oil on the market today.

So, I’d like to pass on what I learned after about 8 hours of dedicated on-line research on Omega 3 fish oil.  And I must say I was amazed to learn that omega 3 fatty acids are generally accepted to have many health benefits by health professionals from all 4 corners of the medical field.

I also learned that we don’t get enough omega 3 fat in our daily diet and many believe this could be a reason for the increase in heart and brain disorders.

Harvard School of Public Health did a study and they found that increasing ones intake of fish oil has a dramatic impact on these disorders.

Why Do We Need Fish Oils?

Good question,  the biggest problem is we just don’t get enough in our daily diet.    In the past, one would get omega-3 from the meats we eat, such as beef and pork.  But now these animals are no longer feeding on grasses and are feed grains which fattens them up but does nothing to build the fatty acids.

So that only leaves fish and quite honestly you can’t eat enough fish to make up the difference.  And even if you could you have to worry about all the pollutants that are found in fish these days.   It’s a no win situation.

High DHA and EPA content -  This is a key one because if it’s not high in these omega 3 components taking it is a waste of time

Good Product Labeling – Without a good label you can’t tell if you getting what your paying for.

Cost – You will be able to find a months supply of an effective fish oil for less than $20.  But be careful the cheapest fish oil isn’t always the cheapest.  You need to check the label and make sure you getting what you bargained for.  What I mean by that is if one product costs a couple of bucks more but has 1000mg of omega 3 per capsule vs 500mg of omega 3 for the less expensive product, then isn’t not such a great deal.

Well this question is up to you to answer for yourself, but I can tell you the one I chose after much research.   It’s the fish oil supplement from Xtend-Life Natural Products.
