Omega-3 Mood presents 1,000 mg of EPA from fish oil, unfortunately the gelcaps that surround this oil are too large to actually swallow. If they were half the size (even if that required twice as many), everyone could use this product, not just people with large necks.
Best advice is to buy only one, and if you find that they are too large for you, contact the manufacturer via the website on the label. If enough people ask, they may come out with a smaller gelcap that everyone can successfully swallow.
I’ve tried breaking open the capsules and drinking the oil inside, but this may not be convenient as the oil tends to coat one’s mouth, it smells like fish, and the manufacturer cautions that the oil may burn — though I believe the oil is no more acidic than salad dressing.
Update: I’ve successfully swallowed these now, with water. The trick, told to me by a doctor friend, is that you should not tilt your head up as you’d expect. Rather, you should, if anything, tilt your head slightly down as you gulp. This works, though I’d still appreciate smaller gelcaps.

I’ve used Omega 3 Mood along with Alive! Multi-vitamin, and had great results in managing my depression and anxiety. This product is also great as an anti-inflammatory agent for anyone who spends a lot of time in the gym. The price and the quality are the best compared to similar products.
I bought these after researching the benefits of Omega oil on mood and after reading “The Chemistry of Joy”, and found that scientific data supports that the optimum EPA to DHA ratio is 7:1, which is what this product has (1000mg EPA and 150mg DHA). The great thing about this product, is that it only contains Omega 3, which is anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is believed to contribute to depression and many heart-related diseases. If the suggested dose does not produce the relief desired, I recommend doubling the dose (taking 4 capsules per day–2 in the morning and two at night). There are studies that suggest that taking 4 grams of EPA over several weeks can significantly relieve depressive symptoms, especially for severe depression.
Due to our great consumption of corn-based products, American diet is excessively rich in Omega 6 (which promotes inflammation), thereby drastically altering the optimum Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio. Therefore, Omega 3 supplement is needed to compensate for that difference. I suggest taking it with food, otherwise you might get “fishy” burps, although the taste is tolerable.
In summary, I would highly recommend this product to anyone wishing to relieve stress, depression, and anxiety, as well as to improve their overall health.
